Introducing Bremont Expands The Terra Nova Jumping Hour Lineup With A New 35mm Collection

Honey, I shrunk the jumping hour!

What We Know

If two watch trends defined 2026 so far, it would be smaller watches and jump hours, and Bremont are right on the money, having just unveiled a new 35mm lineup of their Terra Nova Jumping Hour collection. The new references span both the open dial and closed case jump hour Terra Novas, and we also have Bremont’s frosted steel case for two limited edition models. Plus, we’ve also got a new burgundy-dialled Jumping Hour in 40.5mm, just for good measure.

The big change for these new models is the smaller case, which is worth examining in detail because both watches - the open dial and closed case variants - share a new 35mm diameter, but they aren’t identical. The existing, larger variant of the open dial is 40.5mm, and the larger closed case is 38mm. Both have been slimmed down to a diameter of 35mm and 40.93mm lug to lug, so proportionally both have been shrunk by nearly the exact same proportions across these measurements. Thickness is another story, which on the open dial has actually increased by 0.15mm to 10.3mm. The closed case model does get a slight reduction in thickness, slimmed down by 0.2mm to 8.9mm.

As is the case for all the Terra Nova Jump Hours, the new releases are powered by Bremont’s high-torque calibre BC634 automatic movement made exclusively for the brand by Sellita. It’s based on the SW300, retains a 54-hour power reserve and beats at 28,800 VpH, with the only difference in functionality between the models being the addition of a seconds hand on the open dials.

Terra Nova 40.5 Jumping Hour Burgundy

Starting with the most conventional of the new novelties, we have a new addition to the existing Terra Nova 40.5 Jumping Hour family with a new burgundy dial. First launched in early 2025 as Bremont’s first jump hour, it features an offset hour and minute display at 9 o’clock that’s paired with a large central conventional seconds hand.

The new burgundy dial features a sunray lacquered finish and is available on either the Terra Nova steel bracelet featuring a combination of brushed and polished finishes, or a burgundy leather strap to match the dial. Beyond the dial colour, its specs are identical to the existing lineup, featuring a 40.5mm diameter steel case, short lugs and an oversized crown.

Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Burgundy

As well as resizing the case to 35mm, Bremont have reoriented the jump hour display vertically, with the hour aperture at 12 and the minute aperture just below the centre handstack, which retains the large central seconds hand. This new aperture layout echoes that of the closed-case Terra Nova Jumping Hours, but with the addition of a conventional dial and seconds hand, it differentiates itself and gives Bremont a canvas to experiment with different dials - as we’ll see with the next watch.

It features a sunray burgundy dial, the same colour as the new 40.5, but gains some new details in the alternating stars and dot hour markers. It’s also available on both the steel bracelet and burgundy leather strap.

Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Frosted Pink

Joining the lineup is a limited edition open dial Jumping Hour with a frosted case and pink dial. The steel case has been given a frosted finish - which Bremont debuted last year in the Terra Nova Aventurine - as well as the new centrally-oriented jump hour layout. It’s been finished in a lacquered sunray pink with alternating applied stars and diamond dot hour markers.

The hour and minute date discs have also been tweaked, now featuring a white background and pink numerals. Interestingly, the numerals are pink Super-LumiNova with green lume emissions - I can’t recall another watch which uses pink lume, and I’m very excited to see it in person. It’s paired with a pink nubuck leather strap and is limited to 200 pieces.

Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour

What I suspect will be the most popular of the new releases is a smaller version of the closed-case Terra Nova Jumping Hour, featuring a vertically brushed steel dial broken up with the centrally oriented jump hour and minute apertures.

Beyond the new size, the biggest new change is in functionality. The 35 no longer features the central running-seconds subdial seen on the 38 - styled around Bremont’s Wayfinder compass logo - and now displays just the hours and minutes. In the missing subdial's place is an engraved and black enamel-filled Wayfinder logo which matches the Bremont London engraved text below the minute aperture.

The theme of simplification has extended to the jump hours numerals, now printed in black instead of the brown seen on the 38mm. Notably, the numerals may be printed in black but are still Super-Luminova and glow green. It’s available paired with either the steel bracelet or a grey nubuck leather strap, both nicely completing the stealthy, monochromatic look.

Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Frosted

Lastly, a fully-frosted special edition of the closed-case Terra Nova Jumping Hour. It trades the brushed surfaces on the aforementioned reference for the frosted finish and retains a polished bezel. Its engravings have been further simplified, dropping the Wayfinder logo and triangular minute indicator, and it is signed with an applied and inset engraved Bremont plaque at 6 o’clock. It’s paired with a grey nubuck leather strap and is limited to just 150 pieces.

What We Think

The 35 Jumping Hours are now the smallest watches in the Bremont lineup, and I commend the brand for taking the plunge into smaller sizes. Not only does this lineup expansion open Bremont to those who haven’t been able to pull off their larger watches before, but it also allows Bremont's unique design language to explore smaller proportions.

The smaller size will be especially welcomed on the closed-case jump hours, which wear larger than their specs would lead you to believe with their lack of dial. 35mm is smaller than many brands that are shrinking their lineup have gone (most are landing around 36-38mm), but I think 35mm is bang on for these models to welcome smaller-wristed buyers into the Bremont fold.

What disappoints me is that Bremont’s water resistance inconsistency is still present with this lineup expansion. Including the new open dial jump hours, all watches in the Terra Nova collection boast 100 meters of water resistance, except for the closed case jump hours. Both the 38mm and new 35mm closed case jump hours are rated to just 30m, which makes them unsuitable for submersion. Given the Terra Nova collection exists as Bremont's rugged collection of adventure-ready field watches, it’s a shame Bremont haven’t yet managed to make the closed case jump hours as water-resistant as is expected for a Terra Nova.

I really appreciate that they’ve simplified the engraved and enamelled dial text on the closed case Jumping Hours. Its 38mm brother has seven words surrounding the apertures, now thoughtfully pared back to simply Bremont London for a much more refined look.
